«ATOMEXPO 2010» exhibition will have slogan «Nuclear Power is the Driver of Innovative Development»

The Organizing Committee of the International Forum «ATOMEXPO 2010», which will be held in the Central Exhibition Hall «Manezh», Moscow, on June 7—9, 2010, held its regular meeting. The Forum is sponsored by SC «Rosatom» and organized by LLC Atomexpo.

The meeting guided by Sergey Kirienko, the Director General of SC Rosatom and Chairman of the Forum Organizing Committee, was attended by Konstantin Zaitsev, the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma’s Committee for Energy, heads of a number of industry’s leading companies.

SC Rosatom Director General Sergey Kirienko emphasized that the II International Forum «ATOMEXPO 2010» must confirm the status it acquired this year of the ground where top management of the world’s leading companies format trends of the current nuclear power development in the world.

During the meeting, the Organizing Committee approved general topics of the Forum and main areas of discussions. In 2010 the Forum’s slogan will be «Nuclear Power is the Driver of Innovative Development». Its business program will include discussions of the issues, such as perspectives of the international cooperation in the nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear machine engineering; possibility of the use of controlled nuclear fusion; and implementation of projects associated with the closed fuel cycle with fast neutron reactors. Besides, the Forum’s topics will be investments in the industry, development of cadre potential, enhancement of the legal basis for further dynamic development of nuclear power.

The International Forum «ATOMEXPO» is the central ground of SC Rosatom for holding conferences and exhibitions. The I International Forum «ATOMEXPO 2009» was held in the Exhibition Complex «Expocentre», Moscow, on May 26—28, 2009. The International Exhibition that was carried out in the frameworks of the Forum was visited by 4,000 people, and the Congress was attended by more than 1,000 top managers and specialists of Russian and foreign companies. Total of over 200 Russian and foreign companies took part in the Forum.
